Three-year-old Baylee Alford was on the lawn mower with her mom, when suddenly, the fun ride the two were having together quickly turned into a nightmare.
Baylee fell from the lawn mower.
Baylee’s mother, Amber Hotaling Alford, described the events that followed to WPDE:
“Her arm flew out and it got ran over as I was in the middle of a turn.”
The family faced some very terrifying moments as Baylee was rushed to a hospital via helicopter. And while the little girl escaped the accident with her life, she lost her right arm from the elbow down.
Then, a bright spot came out of nowhere for Baylee and her parents. Amber posted a video of Baylee waking up with her father, Austin, right by her side in the hospital. The sweet moment showed Austin playing Florida Georgia Line’s “May We All,” the three-year-old’s favorite song.
The parents watched as their daughter opened her eyes— Baylee even sang along to a few of the lyrics.
Friends and family weren’t the only ones touched by the video. It caught the attention of the country duo themselves, who reached out directly to their young fan…
Amber shared Baylee’s response to FGL’s well-wishes saying:
“She was so excited. She thought that was the coolest thing.”
On Facebook, Amber also shared that her prayers were answered and her daughter is getting a second chance at life.
The post, in part, reads:
“Praise God my baby is out of surgery in recovery and this was the last surgery for now… We might not be able to see the miracle instantly but faith shows us that he is still performing these same miracles that he did…”
The family still faces a long recovery for their daughter, but a GoFundMe page has been created so people can help them while they care for their little girl.
