Florida Georgia Line’s Brian Kelley Helped Direct Their Upcoming ‘Smooth’ Video
July 25, 2017
Florida Georgia Line have two exciting career moments on the horizon: a new music video and a very special collaboration.
The duo will soon unveil a music video for “Smooth,” one of the songs from their 2016 album Dig Your Roots. The video, which was co-directed by TK McKamy and FGL’s BrianKelley, finds Kelley and bandmate TylerHubbard stuck on the side of the road after their car breaks down. There, they encounter a pair of questionable characters: an Elvis impersonator and someone who just wants to party (the latter played by songwriter CraigWiseman).
“It was amazing. It was probably one of the coolest experiences, writing the treatment myself and then watching it come to life with an amazing team … They did a great job,” Kelley shared with The Boot and other reporters at a recent media event. “Obviously, it wasn’t just me — it was a great team. The day came together amazing; the weather worked out perfect for us.
“It was a very humbling experience,” Kelley adds. “You have a vision, [and] to see it come to fruition and come to life, it’s cool. It’s a different creative outlet for me, and I’m grateful that Tyler and the guys let me do it.”
